SIX GUN GORILLA #1 (Boom!)
"The fact that said gunslinger is a bio-surgically modified silverback gorilla toting a pair of enormous revolvers is neither here nor there." - Solicit for this book
Oh that fact is certainly here and there sirs and madams, and IT IS AWESOME!
boothdom says:
THUMBPRINT #1 (IDW)
Gotta be Thumbprint #1 coming out of IDW for me this week. From Joe Hill and Jason Ciaramella (The creative team behind "The Cape") a 3-parter tackling the sticky issue of a US soldier dishonorably discharged after working at Abu Graib.
I don't expect it to be an easy read, but they're one hell of a creative team so it should be good.
Seanyx says:
SUPERMAN UNCHAINED #1 (DC)
Superman Unchained #1, DC really needs to solidify Supes in the new 52. Action Comics was interesting and I've heard nothing but bad things about the main Superman book. Hopefully Snyder and Lee can bring a Superman to shelves I can root for! Looking forward to this creative team. Also, yes, I still buy at least the first issh of a new Jim Lee drawn book.

BREATH OF BONES #1 (Dark Horse)
Steve Niles writing a jewish golem horror tale with art by the amazing Dave Wachter? This is a classic case of a "no brainer" for me. A 3-part series of a clay monster squashing nazis is something I didn't know I was missing in my life until these guys planted the desire in my brain!

Bedlam #7 has a new artist in Ryan Browne for the start ot the second story arc. I loved the first one with Nick Spencer's really dark storytelling, but Riley Rossmo's art was also a big sell and it's a shame to see him go. A good jumping on point but also a bit of a start over so we'll see.
prof_dresser says:
I am giving a major shout-out to the SOLO DELUXE EDITION HC coming out from DC this week! SOLO was a stunning series where they gave artists the license to make a comic full of whatever they wanted. It includes amazing creators like Darwyn Cooke, Mike Allred, Jordi Bernet, Sergio Aragones, and Paul Pope, among others!
HavokAndChaos says:
It's an obvious choice, but I have to go with The Walking Dead Vol. 18 TPB. Love getting a regular dose of death, dismemberment, and depression from these collections.

Got to be THE WAKE #1 coming out from Vertigo for me. The dream team of Scott Snyder on story, Sean Murphy on art and Matt Hollingsworth on colours. I'd pretty much buy anything with one of those names on, so to have all three together can only be good!
HavokAndChaos says:
While I'm behind on reading it (with two issues sitting here), I'm looking forward to KILL SHAKESPEARE TIDE OF BLOOD #4. Prior to the first issue I was a bit hesitant about a sequel capturing the same magic as the first mini; but McCreery, Del Col, and crew have once again brought a fresh perspective to the Bard's "world." Now, I hope they return to the same well after this 5 issue mini to bring us even more of it's delights.
prof_dresser says:
My Watch List nominee this week is Action Lab's PIRATE EYE one-shot. You may have heard Matt talking about this one on the show a few months back, but it is (obviously) a pirate's tale with a detective story twist. That and some nice art that seems to fit both genres equally well!
